Welcome to AmCare Ambulance Service

... on the World Wide Web

AmCare Ambulance Service was founded in 1988 to serve the communities of northwestern Vermont.

We are the 9-1-1 ambulance service provider for our coverage area, which includes the City of St. Albans, and the Towns of St. Albans, Fairfield, Georgia, and Sheldon, Vermont.  We provide paramedic service to our communities, and we also provide back-up ambulance coverage and intermediate level intercept to neighboring squads.

With 5 Advanced Life Support (ALS) ambulances and over 4,000 responses annually, we are the largest Emergency Medical Services (EMS) provider in Franklin County.  We are the area's only career ambulance service, and we respond to more calls each year than all other county EMS agencies combined.  This, along with our many years of patient transport experience, and our dedicated staff, allows us to provide unequalled service to our customers.

AmCare specializes in providing local and long distance patient transport service, with advanced-level certified personnel on every crew.  All crewmembers are more than 20 years old, are experienced pre-hospital EMS providers, and have completed emergency vehicle operator training.  All crewmembers are certified in National Incident Management System ("NIMS") levels IS-00100 & IS-00700 and have completed Hazardous Materials Awareness Level training.  We have full-time Paramedics on staff.

We provide non-emergency and critical care patient transports throughout the Northeast, and we arrange bed-to-bed air medical transport throughout the US and Canada.  We also provide contract ambulance stand-by and discreet picture car service for media and film production and special events throughout Vermont.

AmCare is an active member of the FEMA national Disaster Response Network.  Most recently, in November of 2012, we also deployed a Paramedic Unit to the Atlantic coast in response to an interstate Emergency Management Assistance Compact ("EMAC") request from the State of New Jersey, in support of Hurricane Sandy relief efforts.  During this deployment, Our Paramedic crew provided primary 9-1-1 emergency coverage to New Jersey communities as a member of "EMS Strike Team X-Ray".

Locally owned and operated, for more than 20 years AmCare Ambulance Service has been committed to providing the highest quality emergency medical care and patient transport services to northern Vermont and the Champlain Valley.

Our trained, professional staff are committed to caring for you ..... when you need it most!

Please Don't Drink and Drive !
